We
spent our last days together through emails. Kevin would write about
how he couldn't wait to get home so we could take a trip together someplace
and be with each other ... how he wanted to go camping and sit on our
front porch and drink his coffee in the mornings like we used to. Going
out to eat dinner, coming home to cuddle up and watch a movie together.
He often told me how much he missed doing that with me.
We had a special thing we did for each other. Something he heard once
on Paul Harvey. He would write S.H.M.I.L.Y. on a piece of paper and
hide it (i.e., dashboard of my car, under my pillow etc.) and then it
would be my turn to write one and hide it for him to find. We did this
for the last 6 years (as soon as he heard it on the radio). It was the
best game we played, it always gave me a warm feeling inside. It stands
for "See How Much I Love You" I still have notes he wrote
me. I have every card and every letter he ever wrote to me. I have them
in a floral box with red satin ribbons on it.
I
miss him.
